During the Calgary flood, I traveled to Alberta with CAN-TF1 as an operations chief and, in a dual role, as a K9 handler. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to respond with, and assist, the local fire departments and the Alberta Provincial HUSAR Team, CAN-TF2
Many letters, drawings and photographs of encouragement and appreciation from citizens were posted in the main mess hall and out into the hallway for responders to read, as they cycled through meal times. I took a picture of a letter that made a significant impact on me and one I often revisit, to this day. This letter, printed below, sums up this topic better than I could ever hope to….
